About Us

In 1982, I formed my own CPA firm with a single principle in mind; to provide the highest level of personalized services as possible to all my clients.  My office has been in Woodbridge since formation.

Initially, I operated my practice from my home office and subsequently relocated to our current office in 2012.

Since 1982, I developed a diversified accounting and income tax practice servicing business and non-business clients throughout the state of Connecticut. In October 2020, my youngest son, Jeff, joined my practice after 12 years of extensive experience in public accounting and private industry. It was at this time, that we’ve proudly changed the name of the firm to Musante & Musante, CPAs.

Stephen A. Musante, CPA – Founder and Managing Partner

Steve earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and business administration from Sacred Heart University and a Masters of Science degree in taxation from the University of New Haven. After spending nine years with local CPA firms, Steve opened his CPA practice, Stephen A. Musante, CPA in 1982 in Woodbridge. Steve also has served on the Board of Directors of several non-profit organizations including two years of service as the president of the Woodbridge Fathers Baseball League (WFBL).

As owner of Musante & Musante, CPAs, Steve oversees all operations of the firm and its staff. Recently in October of 2020, Steve welcomed his youngest son, Jeff, to the firm as a Senior Manager. Together, they look forward to helping to grow the practice and serve their clients for many years to come. Steve’s eldest son, also a CPA, is a partner for a big four accounting firm in New York City.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys golfing, traveling, attending live theater, playing the piano, and spending as much time as possible with his five grandchildren and granddog.

Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jeff M. Musante, CPA – Partner

Jeff started with his father’s firm in October of 2020, after spending nearly four years at a midsize CPA firm in Glastonbury. Jeff began his career in 2008 at Deloitte in Hartford, where he served Fortune 500 clients, along with other large and medium sized businesses for nearly five years. He then spent the next four years working in the internal tax departments for two publicly traded companies. It was at this point when Jeff realized his passion was for serving clients, but preferred to do so on a smaller scale than his big four experience.

After returning to public accounting in 2016, Jeff served small and medium sized corporations and partnerships in various industries. He also consulted with individuals on a variety of tax matters including tax return preparation as well as estate tax planning and compliance. Through gaining this experience, Jeff realized it was time to join forces with his father. After growing up with the firm attached to the family home, he officially became a part of the team on October 4th, 2020.

Jeff lives on Connecticut’s shoreline with his wife, two daughters, son, and their loyal Boxer dog of 11 years named Swisher. He volunteers his time on the Board of Directors for his local Little League, where he serves a the league’s Player Agent. Jeff enjoys golfing, spending time with his family, and cheering on his favorite teams: the Yankees, Giants, UConn Huskies, and the Babson Beavers, as a proud alumnus of the varsity baseball team.

Supporting Staff

Kristen LaRovera – Staff Accountant

Kristen joined the firm in January of 2022. She brings over seven years of public accounting experience at a small firm in Fairfield, where she started her career after graduating from Fairfield University. Kristen worked with small and medium sized clients, preparing financial statements, performing tax research and analysis, and preparing business tax returns. Kristen also prepared tax returns for her individual clients, and assisted with tax planning services throughout the year.

In her free time, Kristen teaches dance at a studio in Oxford, where she’s been a student and faculty for over 23 years. She enjoys watching her students grow in the dance community as she shares her love of dance with all of her students.

In October of 2021 we welcomed Lindsay to the team as we continue to grow the practice. Lindsay brings a wealth of bookkeeping knowledge and experience with her, and we are excited to have her on board!
